Have you heard Rush this week?

Rush has been reading over some of the liberal media reports on the lack of happiness in modern women.

I heard 2 different callers on two different days that were of like precious faith.

One lady had 9 children. He was supposed to put her comments up on his site.
One thing she said keeps ringing in my mind, because I LOVED it!
She said something like this: "I left a law firm and walked away from all my education because GOD called me to something much higher. He called me to be a mother to my nine children."
Woo Hoo! Don't that just bless your socks off?!!?! (She had Rush's full support by the way and keep in mind that Rush has 20 million listeners as opposed to like 1 to 3 million as the tv talk-show hosts have. Lots of people hear- and agree!)

The other lady had eleven children! To her words Rush replied something like "I can't disagree with anything you've said." She spoke about why women were not happy and she said something like this; "Women aren't happy today because they are pursuing things outside of God's design for them. God created women to love and nurture children. They should be home doing this and teaching them, educating them, and training them. Women just can't be happy to their fullest potential outside of God's perfect plan". After Rush shared his agreement with her, he then replied; "Yeah, just look at Hillary." ..I was laughing out loud. :-)

It is NO small thing to be home raising your family! YOU- one woman- have so very much in your hands and in your control.

Please encourage yourself as you read the following poem!

Blessings on the hand of women!
Angels guard its strength and grace,
In the palace, cottage, hovel,
Oh, no matter where the place;
Would that never storms assailed it,
Rainbows ever gently curled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.
Infancy's the tender fountain,
Power may with beauty flow,
Mother's first to guide the streamlets,
From them souls unresting grow—
Grow on for the good or evil,
Sunshine streamed or evil hurled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.
Woman, how divine your mission
Here upon our natal sod!
Keep, oh, keep the young heart open
Always to the breath of God!
All true trophies of the ages
Are from mother-love impearled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.
Blessings on the hand of women!
Fathers, sons, and daughters cry,
And the sacred song is mingled
With the worship in the sky—
Mingles where no tempest darkens,
Rainbows evermore are hurled;
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world.

  1. One year ago next month I stopped working outside the home. I have to admit in someways it was an adjustment and due to other challenges (like living in a camp trailer for 7.5 months) I haven't always thrived at it. But now I'm to the point where I wish I would have done it years ago. I missed watching my oldest two children grow up. They are now 19 and 20 (they ended up being wonderful adults but I missed so much). We considered me homeschooling my younger girls but came to the conclusion that at the age they are it would be very difficult for me to do. And our state has an odd 'law' that makes it even harder to homeschool high school age children. I work hard at not feeling guilty about that. I will say that for now public school is working for us but if it ever doesn't even with the difficult law we would yank them out. As of today, we plan on homeschooling our youngest. But since he is only 9 months old I'm not starting yet. I am teaching him to sign though. Does that count?
    Sorry for the babble.

  2. Ah Millie!
    It certainly counts that you are educating your baby and likely are still educating your older children as well, on one level or another!

    I knew a lady once who home schooled her children- the oldest one was my age and he was the only one of the three she had that went to public school. I always told her that she was "home schooling when home schooling wasn't cool".

    Did you know that my oldest children were in public school for a couple of years? I'm thankful that I was able to pull them back out. It was a tough decision, but at the time, I had 3 in diapers and felt very hard-pressed... I put the oldest 2 in, then the third the following year in kindergarten. The next year, I pulled them all back out. They saw so many things that I didn't want them to see and it just wasn't 'right' in my heart. (Not to mention that my second child was coming home with 4 and 5 hours of homework- not kidding! I thought "well, if I am going to have to teach him anyway, why bother wasting 7 hours of his day at school?!")

    We all have to do what is right for our homes. I know the Lord will lead you with the baby. We can trust Him!

    If you are doing what the Lord has lead and given you to do- there's no room for guilt! :-)

    There are areas in my life that I sometimes wish were a little 'different' but I know its what He's allowed for right now and so I make a decision to make the CHOICE to be content. I don't always understand it all, but I do trust Him! He is faithful! I know that He knows what's best. :-)
