I always told her that she was "home schooling when home schooling wasn't cool".

Did you know that my oldest children were in public school for a couple of years? I'm thankful that I was able to pull them back out. It was a tough decision, but at the time, I had 3 in diapers and felt very hard-pressed... I put the oldest 2 in, then the third the following year in kindergarten. The next year, I pulled them all back out. They saw so many things that I didn't want them to see and it just wasn't 'right' in my heart. (Not to mention that my second child was coming home with 4 and 5 hours of homework- not kidding! I thought "well, if I am going to have to teach him anyway, why bother wasting 7 hours of his day at school?!")

We all have to do what is right for our homes. I know the Lord will lead you with the baby. We can trust Him!

If you are doing what the Lord has lead and given you to do- there's no room for guilt! :-)

There are areas in my life that I sometimes wish were a little 'different' but I know its what He's allowed for right now and so I make a decision to make the CHOICE to be content. I don't always understand it all, but I do trust Him! He is faithful! I know that He knows what's best. :-)Donnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08233687597289743076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7894753400596806698.post-77511841626269955912009-10-04T16:08:15.681-07:002009-10-04T16:08:15.681-07:00One year ago next month I stopped working outside ...One year ago next month I stopped working outside the home. I have to admit in someways it was an adjustment and due to other challenges (like living in a camp trailer for 7.5 months) I haven't always thrived at it. But now I'm to the point where I wish I would have done it years ago. I missed watching my oldest two children grow up. They are now 19 and 20 (they ended up being wonderful adults but I missed so much). We considered me homeschooling my younger girls but came to the conclusion that at the age they are it would be very difficult for me to do. And our state has an odd 'law' that makes it even harder to homeschool high school age children. I work hard at not feeling guilty about that. I will say that for now public school is working for us but if it ever doesn't even with the difficult law we would yank them out. As of today, we plan on homeschooling our youngest. But since he is only 9 months old I'm not starting yet. I am teaching him to sign though. Does that count?
Sorry for the babble.Milliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10530259841120988975noreply@blogger.com
